How to cover the dark circles under the eyes

Fatigue, stress, constant deadlines and sleepless nights are primarily reflected on the face, or rather, they appear in the form of dark circles under the eyes. It can be hidden in several ways: wear sunglasses, sleep, go on vacation or use cosmetics. In our new article, we will talk about the latter method.

How to choose a concealer

Look at your hand. The skin on the wrist is exactly the colour it is on the face. The difference is that there is no redness and spots on the wrist. If the skin on your wrist has a warm shade, then concealer a few shades lighter than your skin colour will be best. If the skin has a cold shade, then choose a concealer two tones lighter with a cold pigment.

However, if the area around the eyes has pronounced circles, this technique will not work. In this case, you need to choose a shade that will cover the circles under the eyes. Here are the following rules:

  • if the circles under the eyes have a grey tint, grey-pink or even grey-green, choose a concealer with a pink undertone;
  • if the colour of the circles under the eyes is a warm brown, you can use salmon shade;
  • blue skin tone around the eyes masks a warm yellow or light orange pigment.

How to apply concealer

  1. First, you need to apply a primer with light-scattering properties to the area under the eyes. All small wrinkles and bumps will be filled, and the skin will look smooth. Wait until the product is well absorbed, and only then begin to mask the shortcomings.
  2. The next stage is the distribution of the foundation on the face. Note that the concealer should be applied on top of the foundation, not before it.
  3. Now take the concealer. It should be a tone lighter than the skin and have a smooth texture.
  4. Using finger pads or a special brush, apply concealer a few points around the perimeter of the lower eyelid and gently shade.
  5. Apply the concealer from the inner corner of the eye to the outer.

After the concealer dries a little, use a transparent loose powder. It will strengthen the result and provide it with naturalness.

Finally, use a highlighter. Apply it to the inner corners of the eyes and on the cheekbones. It will brighten the skin and dark circles under the eyes will be almost invisible.
