Summer bridal makeup step-by-step guide

Charlotte Tilbury shared the basic secrets of ideal wedding makeup for summer and early autumn. The makeup artist claims that the eyes play a major role in the bride’s summer look.

Below you will find a step-by-step guide and a video.

Moisturize your skin

So the makeup will lie smoother and last all day. Charlotte uses a fabric mask, nourishing face cream and eye cream.

Even the tone

The makeup artist suggests using fluid liquid tonal foundations with reflective particles, as they create the illusion of perfect skin and do not look like a mask on the face. In addition, the lighter the formula, the better the makeup will survive a hot day. The main thing is to choose the right tone and blend the product well up to the neck. Use a brush or a wet sponge for blending.

Hide imperfections

Charlotte applies a light concealer with reflective particles under the eyes – this will remove dark circles, hide wrinkles and swelling.

Fix the tone

Use powder to fix tonal base. Even if you have dry skin, the summer heat can play a cruel joke with a wedding makeup: the tone may leak or smear. Therefore, do not neglect the powder. However, do not overdo it – a light layer will be quite enough.

Eyebrows correction

Emphasize eyebrows with your favourite product and fix with mascara or eyebrow gel.

Emphasize your eyes

To visually enlarge the eyes and emphasize their shape, apply light shadows with a shimmer on the entire moving eyelid and inner corners. Apply them to the area under the eyebrow. With light brown shades, accentuate the folds and outer corners of the eyes. Blend well. Apply the same shade on the lower eyelids and walk along the growth line of the upper eyelashes. Using a brown pencil, draw the thinnest wings, creating the effect of “cat’s eyes”. Slightly brush the arrows with a brush to make the makeup less dramatic. Finish your eye makeup with a layer of mascara on the upper and lower eyelashes.

Adjust face shape

With matte powder for contouring, emphasize the cheekbones, forehead hairline, temples and jawline. Highlighter applies on all protruding areas of the face – above the cheekbone, back and tip of the nose, Cupid’s bow over the upper lip. This will create the illusion of a thinner face. Apply blush to the cheeks.

Underline lips

Lips in this makeup are not the main thing, but they also need to be made up. To do this, use a nude matte pencil and lipstick to match. The main thing is to choose the right shade so that the lips are neither too dull and light, nor dark.
