Watermelon contains easily digestible sugars – glucose, fructose and sucrose, as well as pectins, calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, phosphorus and ascorbic acid. Berry normalizes metabolic processes and has diuretic, anti-inflammatory and tonic properties.

Watermelon juice cleans the liver well and removes excess cholesterol from the body. Magnesium, which is contained in the pulp of the watermelon, prevents the formation of stones and preserves the elasticity of the muscles. It is recommended for people suffering from cystitis, chronic hepatitis or biliary dyskinesia, as watermelon does not flush out potassium from the body.

The calorie content of watermelon is 25 kcal per 100 g, and in watermelon juice – 38 kcal. Low-calorie product is suitable for people who are overweight – there is even a special watermelon diet.

Salad with watermelon, feta cheese and mint

For the preparation of summer salad, you need to peel half of the watermelon from the peel and seeds and cut into small pieces. Next, chop 400 g of feta cheese into small cubes. Sprinkle the salad with pine nuts and mint leaves, sprinkle with olive oil and wine vinegar.
