Easy Summer Makeup: Step-by-Step Guide

Summer is a wonderful but very capricious time of year. It dictates its own rules, especially in makeup. It’s best to compromise with summer because its arguments are strong: smudged mascara and melted foundation have never been flattering. Thus, a beauty look must be adapted to the heat, and light summer makeup is not just a trend but a necessity. Here’s a step-by-step guide to easy summer makeup that won’t let you down even in the strongest heat.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Start with Sunscreen: The first step of any summer makeup is applying sunscreen. This is crucial to protect your skin from the harmful effects of the sun’s rays.
  2. Apply a Bronzing Primer: Use a kabuki brush to apply a bronzing primer (or a regular primer if you have fair skin). Distribute the product on the brush to avoid applying too thick a layer. Spread the remainder of the product over your face and neck in a thin layer.
  3. Contour: Take some bronzer on the kabuki brush and work on the cheekbone areas, gradually moving up to the forehead.
  4. Define the Eyelids: Use a thin brush to apply a bit of bronzer to the crease of the eyelids, spreading it onto the mobile part. This will make your eyelids look a bit more expressive.
  5. Apply Concealer: Dab a little concealer under your eyes to remove any bluish tones. Apply just a small amount to refresh your look.
  6. Highlight: Apply highlighter to the upper part of your cheekbones, around the eyes, under the brows, the inner corners of the eyes, the Cupid’s bow, and the bridge of the nose.
  7. Mascara: Lightly apply mascara to your upper lashes (skip the lower lashes).
  8. Shape Brows: Style your brows with gel. If your brows are very light, you can add a bit of color with brow powder.
  9. Tinted Lip Balm: Apply a tinted lip balm. Avoid liquid gloss as it can easily run in the sun.
  10. Set with Powder: Set your summer makeup with mattifying powder to make it last longer in the heat.

If you have breakouts, mix concealer with bronzer in a 1:1 ratio and apply it to the acne.
