Chanel, the French fashion house presented the first ready-to-wear collection, which Karl Lagerfeld did not work on.
The new spring-summer collection of the brand was developed by Virginie Viard. Virginie took over as Creative Director of Chanel after the death of the iconic fashion designer.
The Chanel show was held at the Grand Palais. Models showed outfits from the new collection, walking on galvanized roofs.
The main stars of the show were the daughter of Cindy Crawford, the American model Kaya Gerber, as well as supermodel Gigi Hadid.
The collection consisted mainly of tweed. However, this time on the catwalk one could see flirty silk micro-shorts, sequin skirts and airy fabrics.
“The collection is simple and balanced. Jackets with collars and cuffs and short skirts reinterpret the tweed suit. Looks of satin and silk demonstrate unhindered freedom. The ruffles and thin pleated blouses with air sleeves enhance their charm”, says the fashion house about the collection.
Also, during the Chanel show, a Parisian prankster and blogger Marie Benoliel suddenly appeared. She was hindered by Gigi Hadid, who stopped the comedian while the guards tried to get to the girl.
