Unlike the recent Dior show in Marrakesh, the Prada fashion house has demonstrated its Resort 2020 collection at its own headquarters in New York. For the second year in a row, the Italian brand has chosen The Piano Factory – a piano manufacturing factory to showcase its cruise collection.
True, naive and “opposite to pretentiousness” – says about her new collection Miuccia Prada. “It’s just like a protest against redundancy. I am sensitive to the political situation; everything that happens affects me.” The designer is worried about contemporary world politics, and it all affects and displays greatly in the collection and location of the show.
Neutral and calm shades, simple and straight sewing of most models, minimum jewellery – very clearly show the mood of Miuccia. Simple things turn away attention from hard times in the world and make an accent on our daily lives.

In this season, Miuccia mostly used cotton and natural fabrics. Tops and jackets were made of chintz, coats and suits from more rugged material – buckram.

The main trend of the show are flowers and feminine clothing patterns. Skirts and trapezoidal dresses are classic for Prada, but this time it was more girly in its proportions.

Floral print and patchwork technique – have become relatively bright accents. The flowers covered the dresses, white shirts and even “military” suits, their rudeness was softened by the colours and tender shades.

Thanks to the calm colours and simple patterns of things, all the accessories and jewellery were clearly distinguished. Scarves with large sequins resembled grapes, earrings with untreated pearls were complemented by boa. The looks of the girls were very vividly highlighted by the warm socks with sneakers and Mary Jane shoes. The return of the well-known Bowling bag that was released in the 2000s in several colours was very noticeable. The bright frame of glasses and striped hats attracted the attention of the audience.

Even hairstyles of the models looked casual and simple. Guido Palau, a stylist of the show, said hair styling and makeup should look as if models had done it themselves. This is to emphasize the everyday appearance.
The desire to simplify was felt throughout the collection of Miuccia Prada. On the background of the bright and grandiose cruise collections of other fashion houses, the Prada show does not look worse, it completely conveys the call to stop and enjoy everyday life.
