Tartiflette – a recipe for potato casserole with onions and bacon appeared in Savoy, southeastern France. Also, tartiflette will serve as a side dish on the holiday table.
The original uses Reblochon cheese but can be replaced by Camembert. With a different cheese, you will get a completely different taste.
Ingredients:
- Potatoes – 1 kg;
- Smoked bacon – 350 g;
- Onion – 2 pieces;
- Dry white wine – 150 ml;
- Cream – 200 ml;
- Cheese – 400 g.
- Cooking time: 1 hour.
Preparation:
- Cut the potatoes into slices (or cubes, whatever you like) and boil in salted water for 5-7 minutes.
- Cut the onion into half rings and fry until transparent, add the bacon, cut into cubes or slices. Fry until the bacon is slightly cooked.
- Mix wine with cream, salt, pepper and pour the potatoes. You can do without wine, but then you need to take more cream.
- Then, cut the cheese into slices and spread on top. Take any cream cheese and rub on a fine grater. Reblochon cheese has a creamy texture and forms a crust. The closest analogue of Reblochon is Camembert cheese. But we tried to cook with cream cheese. It also turns out tasty. The main thing is not to bake for a long time, otherwise, the cheese will be too hard.
- Put everything in the oven for 20-30 minutes at a temperature of 180 degrees.
Serve tartiflette while hot. Bon appetit!
