Recently, the Ukrainian Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2019/2020 was completed in Kiev.

Fashion Week is an opportunity for designers and fashion houses to showcase their new collections and set trends for the upcoming season. The first fashion week was spent in 1943 in New York. She was organized by Eleanor Lambert – a fashion commentator in America. Then the event had the name “Press Week”. Only journalists and publicists of American fashion were present at the shows. Therefore, the event had the name “Press Week”.

Now, New York, Paris, Milan and London hold the most significant events of the fashion world. These cities are called fashionable capitals of the world.

Let’s return to the Ukrainian fashion week. Ukrainian Fashion Week was founded in 1997 and this is the oldest fashion week in Central and Eastern Europe.

The main goal of the UFW is to support young designers and new names in the world of Ukrainian fashion. Each time the event gathers more than 60 participants. There are leading Ukrainian media and show business stars at the shows.

Since 2011, the main venue is Mystetskyi Arsenal. The selection of locations for shows was particularly unusual this year. Guests of fashion week on this season discovered familiar places with a new, unusual side. The most memorable was the ice arena, the Kiev Central Post Office and the central registry office.

The first day of the UFW show was opened by Poustovit. The show of Lilia Poustovit was held on the main podium of the Mystetsky Arsenal. The main print of the autumn-winter 2019/2020 collection has become a plaid. Lilia returned the love to this seemingly forgotten pattern. Poustovit presented unusual combinations of colours and styles on a par with classic looks.

All shows of the FLOW The Label brand are always cosy. They take us to the cosy streets of European cities first, and then to hot deserts. This year, the inspiration for the show was Tom Sawyer, one of the main characters of Mark Twain’s book “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer”. The audience seemed to be transported to the middle of the XIX century.

It is a special pleasure to be present at a live event, to plunge into the atmosphere created by the designer. And of course, be aware of all the fashion trends.
