Geometric pattern: clothes fashion trend

The geometry of this season is once again storming women’s wardrobes: the wide vertical stripe is still relevant, and it is already joined by eternal plaid and zigzag. Not only that, seasonal geometric prints can be combined even with a leopard pattern. What will be in vogue this season? GoBeauty Blog learned about this.

The most up-to-date geometric prints

Polka dot

This pattern has a wonderful feature – it gives a special charm to the female figure, as well as the lightness and weightlessness of the clothing itself. This pattern is very versatile, fits many, and appropriate in any style of clothing. And properly selected polka dot pattern can even help to adjust the figure.

Plaid

This is one of the classic geometric patterns. It came to us a long time ago and got accustomed to different styles – from preppy to rock and roll. The plaid, first of all, is associated with the Scottish skirt and not for nothing – the red-black pattern is always relevant. Previously, skirts with this print were acceptable only in the school clothes, but now they are worn by all fashionistas. Burberry dictates fashion with its famous scarves and t-shirts with a brand print.

Stripes

For several years now, it has been filling up store shelves as summer approaches. In the new season, it is full of variety – there are wide, narrow, longitudinal and transverse stripes. Models with this print are amazing, attract the attention of others and allow you to stand out from the crowd. Popular are pyjamas stripes and clothes in the same style.

Zigzag

This is a new trend for the coming season. Previously, phantasmagoric zigzag could only be seen in Missoni collections. The miniature and multicoloured patterns have long become an integral part of the brand’s corporate identity. Today, zigzags – large and small, coloured and monochrome, long and short – have graced many things that cannot be missed this autumn, from outerwear to accessories.

Black and white graphics

It returns as it works to visually correct the flaws of the figure. The geometric prints look monochrome very futuristic and combine perfectly with the bright accessories that are popular this season. The black and white dress with a loose waistline with red leather shoes or yellow Satchel will look especially good. In a more conservative way, it is best to complement it with a black or grey coat.

Optical illusion

Once upon a time, 3D prints were considered a great innovation. Today, optical illusions are admired by leading designers who have loved to play with the shades, shapes and drawings created on a computer. A kind of experiment with a fabric that creates a deception vision, concealing the flaws of the figure, masking them by textured pattern. The more original the form, the more interesting the look. It is better to combine such prints with neutral shades, emphasizing their uniqueness.

Colour block

One of the highlights of the 2023 season is the geometric print using the colour block effect. Triangles that flow smoothly into trapeziums and squares look much more effective in the variety of colours superimposed on the fabric. Orange and blue, pink and grey, green and red mixing on stylish autumn coats, cosy cardigans and 1960s-style dresses.

Rules for choosing clothes with geometric print

If you want to dress in clothes with geometric print, there are a few basic rules to follow:

  1. Clothing with a geometric pattern such as squares and triangles should by no means be made of shiny fabrics, as such materials will make the print visually larger.
  2. Vertical stripes should be depicted on loose and flowing fabrics since if such figures are tightly pressed against the body, the picture will be slightly distorted. Try to avoid wide stripes in problem areas.
  3. Horizontal stripes are more suitable for slim girls, it will emphasize their beauty. Women with problem areas should avoid prints with horizontal stripes; it will only visually make the figure bigger.
