Alginate mask: benefits, effect, usage

Sometimes it's not necessary to visit a cosmetologist to improve the condition of the skin. There are excellent salon treatments that you can repeat yourself at home. For example, apply an alginate mask that gives an instant result. And what are its advantages? How to do it? Read about this in our new article.

What is the originality of the alginate mask

The secret of effectiveness is in the brown algae, which contains hyaluronic and alginic acid. The latter and its salts can bind a massive amount of water molecules. As a result, it produces a helium substance with a mass of useful properties. In addition to alginic acid, this gel consists of vitamins, minerals and protein. All these substances perfectly nourish, moisturise the skin and improve metabolic processes.

The alginic acid consists of three salts, each of which performs its function.

Sodium alginate:

  • activates collagen production;
  • tones and holds moisture;
  • results in the normal functioning of the sebaceous glands and have an anti-stress effect on the skin.

Potassium alginate:

  • strengthens blood circulation and the walls of vessels;
  • cleans pores, removes toxins and has an anti-allergenic effect;
  • solves the problems of dermatitis, acne, eczema and acne;
  • soothes the skin and relieves irritation.

Calcium alginate:

  • deeply cleanses and stimulates blood circulation;
  • participates in fat and carbohydrate cell metabolism;
  • protects the skin from the effects of negative factors.

What are the benefits of alginate masks?

Alginic acid has anti-inflammatory properties. Also, it provides deep moisturising and cleansing of the skin. Many women immediately notice the cosmetic effect after the procedure - the skin becomes more elastic, swelling decreases, small wrinkles are smoothed out.

But the main plus is that it is capable of solving several problems at once: moisturising dry skin, freshening mature skin and calming down irritated skin. Besides, the mask has another significant advantage: it is suitable even for the most sensitive skin.

How to make an alginate mask at home

In order not to spend a lot of money on a miracle mask, prepare it yourself. To begin, thoroughly clean the skin with micellar water or serum. Then apply effective care products such as emulsion or concentrate to the face, which will increase the effectiveness of the mask. When the serum is absorbed, prepare the mixture. The first raw material of alginate masks - dry powder. Take 1 part of mineral water for 1 part alginic powder and mix.

When the mask is thickened, using a brush quickly and evenly apply the alginate mask to a thick and even layer on the face on the massage lines, passing the eyelids and lips. Lay in a relaxed position for 15-20 minutes. After the expiration of this time, the alginate mask on the face will freeze and gain an elastic consistency. Remove the mask with a smooth and fast movement, from the chin towards the forehead. Then wipe the skin with a tonic and apply a facial cream.

For the best effect, renewal and rejuvenation of the skin, it is recommended to take a course of 8-15 facial alginate masks or supplement the procedure with massage or microgravity therapy (micro-needling).
