How it was: Chanel №5 best advertising campaigns

Chanel №5 was created by perfumer Ernest Beaux specially commissioned by Gabriel Chanel in 1921. Since then, it has been practically unchanged both in content and in the external design of the bottle. According to statistics, 2 bottles of this legendary fragrance are sold every minute in the world.

Chanel №5 is a symbol not only of the Chanel House but of the whole of France.

Catherine Deneuve, 1977

In the 1977 commercial, authored by the cult Helmut Newton, Catherine Deneuve appeared – the main French beauty, film star, who conquered millions of men and became the standard of beauty and style for millions of women.

Nicole Kidman, 2004

The story told by esthete director Baz Luhrmann can rightly be considered the most beautiful ad that has ever been created for Chanel №5. According to Luhrmann, he was filming “a trailer for a film that is not created.”

The famous perfume bottle never appeared in the video. Instead, in the final frame, we see Nicole Kidman in a dress with an open back and a necklace of 687 diamonds forming the Chanel logo.

Audrey Tautou, 2011

According to the plot of the mini-film, a girl resembling Coco herself travels on the Orient Express, a luxurious train that all the aristocrats and wealthy Europeans of the twentieth century travelled by.

Brad Pitt, 2012

Brad Pitt was the first and so far the only man who advertised the legendary fragrance. His image leaves no doubt – if you want to win the heart of a man, you need Chanel №5.

Marilyn Monroe & Chanel №5

In one of her interviews, Marilyn said: “I only put on Chanel №5 for the night.” The phrase has become a cult. A few years ago in the archives was found an audio recording of the same interview, which formed the basis of the video.
