## Why are nails peeling?

There are several reasons for the deterioration of nails.



### *Health problems*

The nail plate becomes softer and thinner due to the kidneys, intestines, liver or pancreas problems. Nervous exhaustion, stress and antibiotics can also be the causes of nail peeling. Advise the client to remember the latest life events and analyze them.



### *Lack of minerals and vitamins*

Improper diet or prolonged diet lead to deficiency disease, which affects not only health but also the condition of the skin, hair and nails. Calcium, magnesium, silicon, phosphorus and vitamins A, B1, C, D and E are the most important for the health of the nail plate. ## How to work with such nails

### *Use a soft nail file*

We recommend using crystal or laser nail files. They are the most delicate and you can use it to “seal” nail scales. If the client has a problem of nail layering, it makes sense to buy a separate nail file with minimal abrasiveness.



### *Polish the nails properly*

It is necessary to polish nails in the direction from edges to the centre and from a tip to the basis. Check the quality of polishing on a thin fabric like nylon tights. Run nails over it: they should slide smoothly, do not cling to the threads. Do not polish nails for more than 2 minutes: there is a risk of sharpening the nail plate.



### *File the nails properly*

So that a visit to your beauty salon does not lead to even more nail peeling, do not provide chaotic and abrupt movements from side to side. The file should be held at an angle of approximately 45 degrees. Don’t forget to move it from the periphery to the centre.



### *Polish with wax and oils*

The procedure of sealing with wax or oils helps to fill the damaged areas and “glue” the layers. Offer the client a hands bath. And when the structure of the nail plate is most susceptible to care, apply a special wax or olive oil on your hands and with gentle circular motions with a soft polishing file (800 to 4000 grit) rub it into the nail plate and fill the area. In our new article, we offer step-by-step guidance for a summer manicure, which you will need to spend some time on, but it’s worth it. To perform this design, you need to have nails of at least medium length.



1. Prepare the nails: make a hygienic manicure, remove the cuticle, shape the nails, cover them with a dehydrator, primer and base (it should be dried in a lamp). The base coat can be transparent or milky.
2. Apply white gel polish (translucent, not enamel) and fix it in the lamp. 
3. Use a simple pencil to make an inscription on the nails on the middle fingers, then draw the letters along the contour of the white gel paint (thin brush) and fix the design in the lamp. If necessary, line the letters several times, drying each layer in a lamp. After drying, erase the remnants of the pencil you used to mark.
4. Choose 6 gel varnishes of different colours and apply drop by drop on a glossy surface (eg glass). Mix each colour with the white gel paint we used to line the letters. The paint should be more than the varnish so that the picture does not spread during the execution and was three-dimensional. Give each letter a separate colour and fix the picture in the lamp (you do not need to cover the top, just remove the sticky layer).
5. We paint fruits with white gel paint. These can be citrus, bananas or pineapple. First, draw the contours of the fruit, and then fill them with colour from the inside. Then draw a different colour (lighter) peel and pits. You do not need to cover the design with a top, just remove the sticky layer.
